I
'i1
MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATE
DATE: AUGUST 29, 1984
SUBJECT: STORM WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
As I indicated at the August 27, 1984 Council Meeting it was
my desire that at the September 4 Agenda Session Council
give direction to Staff regarding the next steps you wish us
to pursue in the implementation of the City's Storm Water
Management Plan which was recently submitted to you should
it be your desire to accept this plan as presented. It
would be my hope that we could enter into discussions
regarding the acceptability of the plan and if appropriate,
what are the next steps in the implementation process.
Conversations with Mr. John Johnson have indicated that it
would be appropriate for the City to submit the Storm Water
., Management Plan to the Rice Creek Watershed District for
their review and comment in order to ensure its compatabilty
and compliance with the requirements of the 509 Plan they
are presently developing.
At this time I feel it would be appropriate for the Council
to direct Public Works/Community Development Director Steve
Thatcher to implement the plan if it is your desire to do so
using the recommendations of Mr. Johnson. If that is not
your desire, Staff would request that Council give direction
regarding what additional information or analysis you would
desire to have performed prior to your adoption.
