N <br />RESOLUTION NO, 1784 <br />I <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING RAMSEY COUNTY CONSIDER PLACEMENT OF <br />4-WAY STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF LONG LAKE ROAD AND <br />HILLVIEW ROAD <br />WHEREAS, a petition was received by the City of <br />Mounds View on June 21, 1984 from residents on Long Lake <br />Road between Sherwood and Ardan Avenues requesting the <br />placement of traffic controls on Long Lake Road; and <br />WHEREAS, the residents sited concerns for the safety <br />of their children in view of the speed of traffic, traveling <br />along this section of Long Lake Road and the lack of traffic <br />controls from Highway 10 to County Road J; and <br />WHEREAS, the police Department has recommended that <br />the most efficient method for controlling the speed of <br />traffic along this section of road would be to place four <br />way stops at the intersections of Long Lake Road and <br />Sherwood and Long Lake Road and Hillview; and <br />WHEREAS,a traffic analysis by the Public Works <br />Department of the City of Mounds View has determined that <br />traffic on Long Lake Road north of Highway 10 has increased <br />in excess of 1001 since the placement of traffic signals at <br />the intersection of Long Lake Road and Highway 10 by <br />the Minnesota Department of Transportation; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council <br />of the City of Mounds Viejo requests that the Ramsey County <br />Board of Commissioners determine whether or not such efforts <br />would reduce the unsafe speed of traffic traveling along . <br />this section of roadway. <br />ATTEST: <br />(SEAL) <br />Adopted this 27th day of August, 1984. <br />
