Since the estimated sewer system <br />improvement cost has declined, the SWM unit price could be <br />recalculated as follows: <br />$3,300,000 = $ 0.0767 sq.ft. <br />988 acres x 43,650 sq.ft. <br />acre <br />The unit price could be reduced further by increasing the acres. <br />Attachment #3 is a copy of Page 48 of the City's Comprehensive Land <br />Use Plan. By subtracting land utilized for transportation, public <br />and semi-public, land, parks, lakes and wetlands, the land <br />remaining is 1,876.3 acres: <br />I <br />$3,000,000 x S 0.041 sq.ft. <br />1,876.3 acres x 43,560 sq.ft. <br />acre <br />ALTERNATE #2 - MODIFY EXISTING SWM CHARGE CREDIT FOR NOT UTILIZIING� <br />THE CITY'S EXISTING STORM SEWER SYSTEM <br />Chapter 25 of the City Code could be modified by deleting the first <br />paragraph of Section 25.04 and adding the following: <br />Any owner or his agent, who applies for a building permit <br />under Chapter 59 of the Municipal Code, shall pay a storm <br />water management charge in an amount, as determined herein <br />after, to the fund. <br />If the applicant's land contributes storm water to a storm <br />sewer needing improvement or additional monitoring (as <br />identified in the storm water management study dated July 16, <br />1984) the applicant shall pay the SWM charge. If the <br />applicant's land does not contribute storm water to a storm <br />sewer needing improvement or additional monitoring, the <br />applicant shall pay 20% of the SWM charge. <br />ALTERNATE #3 - STORM SEWER UTILITY <br />A storm sewer utility could be instituted to provide additional <br />revenue and supplement the SWM fund. <br />M <br />
