Mounds View City Council E0 <br />March 11, 1985 <br />Regular Meeting i�-U. �� Y Page our <br />------------------------------------------------*--------------------- <br />Mayor Linke asked Council approval in appointing <br />Judy Rowley and Robyn Zollner to fill the vacancies <br />on the Planning C^mmission. <br />Motion/Second: Linke/Blanchard to appoint Judy <br />Rowley and Robyn Zollner to the Planning Commission <br />immediately. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke reported the Ramsey County League of <br />Local Governments would be sponsoring a meeting for <br />newly elected officials at the Roseville Holiday Inn <br />at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 16. lie stated he <br />planned on attending and would contact the winner of <br />the March 12 special election to invite them also. <br />Mayor Linke reported the entire Council had attended <br />the airport hearing in Blaine last week, and reviewed <br />what occurred. He stated it was the concensus of <br />those present that the EIS and scoping documents were <br />inadequate. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported he had spoken <br />with Sandra Gardebring of the Met Council and she <br />had reviewed the documents available on the airport <br />He added the PCA will also be submitting comments, <br />and they will be doing new noise level readings in <br />Mounds View in the spring and summer. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley updated the Council on <br />plans for the special election and asked that they <br />be present to witness the counting of the ballots. <br />He explained that if the State approves the use of <br />the machine which counts the ballots, it would be <br />presented for purchase in the 1986 budget, at a cost <br />of $13,000.00. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported they will meet <br />at 9:30 PM on March 12 to certify the election, and <br />if the results are not contested, the newly elected <br />member will be sworn in on March 25. He also advised <br />that the March 25 meeting will be broadcast live over <br />cable. <br />Motion Second: Hankner/Blanchard to adjourn the <br />meeting at -08 PM. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Motion Carried <br />13.
