4i*t, /'�7 <br />TO: Mayor, City Council and Clerk -Administrator <br />FROM: Police Civil Service Commission <br />DATE: April 18, 1985 <br />RE: HIRING, OF ADDITIONAL POLICE OFFICERS <br />In January of this year the Mounds View Civil Service Commission began <br />the process of selecting qualified applicants for the nosition of Police <br />Officer. The selection process included a written examination, oral <br />examination, psycholonical testinq, physical examination and a comprehensive <br />personnal history and background investigation. The Commission was advised <br />by Chief Ramacher that the 1985 budget allows for hiring an additional <br />Police Officer after April 1, 1985. Chief Ramacher also advised the <br />Commission of the retirement of Sgt. Haqen effective April 30, 1985. <br />The Commission hereby submits the following three names of qualified <br />applicants for City Council consideration. <br />Robert Nelson <br />Margaret Wolverton <br />David Anderson <br />RECOMMENDATION: The hounds View Civil Service Commission requests that <br />City Council authorize the hiring of Robert Nelson to the <br />position of Police Officer startinq on or about May 1, 1985. <br />Also that the City Council authorize the hiring of Margaret <br />Wolverton to the position of Police Officer starting on <br />or about May 3, 1985. <br />Probationary period will be a six month duration. Starting <br />salary and benefits will be per local union agreement. <br />-1 <br />
