MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 16, 1985 <br />PAGE TWO <br />Staff would recommend the following language for Section <br />6.13 relating to Suspensions. <br />After consultation with the Mar the Clerk-Adminis <br />yo <br />for may suspend any employee without pay _for <br />disciplinary reasons Eor a period not to exceed five <br />working days Said suspension must be affirmed by <br />resolution of the Council no later than seven calend <br />days after the suspension commences. <br />The cumulative total of all suspensions for any one <br />em love; shall not exceed thirty working days during <br />calendar year. <br />Causes for suspension shall include, but not be limited <br />to the following: <br />(1) Insubordination <br />(2) Gross negligence in the handling of municipal <br />monieT, ment, or property. <br />(3) Unauthorized use of City -owned a uiipment and <br />vehicles. <br />(4) Incompetence or inefficiency in the performance <br />of hi_ s duties. <br />(5) Violation of the provisions of this chapter. <br />Should Council approve of these recommendations, it will be <br />placed in the revised Municipal Code for your adoption per <br />the schedule for review of the Municipal Code. <br />DFP/mjs/Attachment <br />j <br />
