Mounds View City Council March 10, 2025 <br /> Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> 1 City Administrator Zikmund explained an appreciation luncheon was held for the EDC members <br /> 2 last Wednesday and noted Council Member Meehlhause was in attendance as he has served as the <br /> 3 long-time liaison for this group. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 MOTION/SECOND: Clark/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 10061, <br /> 6 Appreciation of Mounds View Economic Development Commissioners. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Council Member Meehlhause indicated he had the privilege of serving on the EDC and noted he <br /> 9 had a hand in recruiting three members on the EDC. He explained he was very proud of the great <br /> 10 work that was done by this Commission. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Mayor Lindstrom thanked the EDC members for their service to the City. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Ayes—5 Nays—0 Motion carried. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 B. Presentation from Congresswoman Betty McCollum's Representative. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Charlie Hammond, representative from Congresswoman Betty McCollum's office, introduced <br /> 19 himself to the City Council and discussed community project funding that was available for local <br /> 20 projects. He explained this funding was available for cities through local legislators for projects <br /> 21 that were shovel ready, one-year projects and have community support. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Council Member Meehlhause invited Congresswoman Betty McCollum to attend the Tribute Park <br /> 24 grand opening, which will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 7. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Mayor Lindstrom encouraged the public to speak with kindness and respect when addressing the <br /> 29 City Council during Public Comment. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road,requested the City address the design of Spring Lake Road <br /> 32 roadway because the road was made too narrow. He recommended the City speak with the <br /> 33 engineering firm that designed this roadway.He asked that he be allowed to clear the trail,because <br /> 34 the City was not doing a good enough job for snow removal. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Russell Zach, 8431 Pleasant View Drive,stated he received a letter in the mail from the City noting <br /> 37 the Rainbow Tree Service has no record of taking his tree down, but the arborist put a notice on <br /> 38 his door. He expressed concern with the lack of notice he was given before the tree was removed. <br /> 39 He reported the City was required to give 30 to 60 days notice and this was not done for the tree <br /> 40 on his property and now the City was trying to collect$500 from him for the tree that was removed. <br /> 41 He indicated the tree that was removed was not in the boulevard and was not a $1,000 tree. He <br /> 42 stated he would not be paying the City$500 and if he continued to receive letters from the City he <br /> 43 would be taking the next step. He reported the City was taking illegal action against him and <br /> 44 reiterated that he would not be paying the $500 bill. <br /> 45 <br />
