71.07 <br />/�► substantial construction, watertight and equipped with easily <br />removable covers which, when bolted in place, shall he gastight <br />and watertight. All grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be <br />maintained by the owner, at his expense. <br />(10) Any wastes prohibited by the Metropolitan Waste <br />Control Commission. <br />Subdivision 2. Industrial Wastes. It shall he unlawful <br />CU dlSCOdCgP Lltu file nwu,,iyoi io..i �..:} z...c: any ...- <br />dustrial w3stes unless the prior approval of the Plumbing <br />Inspector is obtained. The Plumbing Inspector shall approve the <br />discharge of industrial wastes when, in his opinion, the proposed <br />wastes will not be of an unusual amount or character. <br />Subdivision 3. Other Wastes. The admission into the <br />public sewers of any waters or wastes having (a) a 5-day -kin- <br />chemical Oxygen Demand greater than 300 parts per million by <br />weight, or (b) containing more than 350 parts per million by <br />weight of suspended solids, or (c) having an average daily flow <br />greater than 2% of the average daily sewage flow of the Munici- <br />pality, shall be subject to the review and approval of the <br />Plumbing Inspector. <br />The owner shall provide, at his expense, such preliminary <br />treatment as may be necessary to, (a) reduce the Biochemical <br />Oxygen Demand to 300 parts der million and the suspended solids <br />to 350 parts per millior by weight, or (b) control the <br />quantities and rates of discharge of su^h waters or wastes. <br />Plans, specifications, and any other pertinent informacion <br />relating to proposed preliminary treatmer.c facil.tie3 shall be <br />submitted for the approval of the Counoil. No corstru:tics of <br />such facilities shall be commenced until proper approvals are <br />obtained in writiny. <br />Subdivision 4. Preliminary Treatment Facilities. where <br />preliminary treatment frcilities are provided for any water, or <br />wastes, they shall be maintained continuously in satisfactory arC <br />effective operation, by the owner at his expense. <br />Subdivision 5. Control Manhole. The owne: of any property <br />se-ved by a building sewer crrr}' industrial wastes shall <br />install d suitable control manhole in the building sewer to <br />facilitate nhsprvation, sampling and me3surement of the wastes. <br />Such manhole, when required, shall he accessibly and safeiy <br />located, and shall be constructed in accordance with plans <br />approved by the Plumbing Inspector. The manhole shall be <br />installed by the owner at his expense, and shall be maintained by <br />him so as to he safe and accessible at all times. <br />Subdivision 6. Measurement Tests. All measurement tests <br />and analyses of the characteristics of waters and wastes to <br />
