6. 28 <br />Subdivision 4. The employee may keep his military pay. <br />6.29. LEAVE OF ABSENCE WITHUUT PAY. Upon request of an <br />employee to the Clerk -Administrator, leave of absence without pay <br />may be granted by the Council. Such leave of absence shall not <br />exceed a period of 90 days provided that the same may be extended <br />beyond such period if for continued disability or other good and <br />sufticient reasons, but in no case to exceed one year. No vaca- <br />tion or sick leave benetits snail accrue auring a period of leave <br />of absence without pay. <br />6.30. HOLIUAYS. (240, 206) <br />Subdivision 1. The following shall he legal holidays for <br />all regular full-time employees and regular part-time employees <br />en a prerata basis subject to this chapter: New Year's Day, <br />Martin Luther Ring's Birthday (3rd Monday :n January), <br />President's Day, Gcod Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, <br />Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanks- <br />giving, and Christmas Day. If Christmas Day, New Year's Day, <br />Independence Day, or Veteran's Day falls on a Saturday, the <br />preceding Friday will be considered a holiday. If Christmas Day, <br />New Year's Day, Independence Day, or Veteran's Day fall:; on a <br />Sunday, the following Morday will be considered a holiday. <br />Employees shall observe the days herein designared es legal <br />holidays and receive compensation as though worked, but essential <br />operations snail be maintained by such skeleton crews as the <br />Department Head deems necessary. COMPENSATION. <br />Subaiv,sior 1. Rates of Pay. Rates of pay for all <br />employees shall be set by the Council. <br />Subdivision 2. Pay Periods. The pay period for all <br />employees shall be tourteen calenaar days. Each pay period shall <br />commence at 12:U1 a.m. on a Saturday and ena at i1:59 p.m. on a <br />Friday, fourteen days later. Pay day shall be the Friday <br />following the end of the pay period. When a pay day falls on a <br />legal holiday employees shall be paid on the preceding work day. <br />
