6.26 <br />Subdivision 4. Sick Leave Advance. Upon making written T <br />application to the Clerk -Administrator, regular full-time <br />employees may be advanced sick leave by the Council with the <br />following conditions: <br />(1) Employees with less than one year of service shall <br />not be eligible. <br />(2) EMDloye«s ehrll n.„e _x �catad u:i nick leave and <br />Vanafinn tuna - - - - <br />=' _`=_-' � aays uVuaidDie co cnem oetore <br />receiving an advance of sick leave. <br />(3) Eligible employees may receive advances of sick leave <br />not to exceed 15 working days. <br />(4) Whenever possible, as determined by the Council, an <br />employee who receives an advance of sick leave shall maintain an <br />accrual of unused vacation leave equivalent to the outstanding <br />balance of the advance. <br />(5) Any employee who receives an advance of sick leave <br />shall repay that advance with sick leave the employee accrues for <br />each month of service. <br />(6) Any employee, whose employment with the City ter- <br />minates prior to full repayment of the sick leave advance, shall <br />-epay said advance from his regular earning. This shall be <br />deducted from the employee's paycheck. <br />6.27. EMERGENCY LEAVE Of ABSENCE. In cases of serious <br />emergency, including death or serious illness in the employee s <br />immediate family or other emergency of a serious nature, <br />regular employee's Uepattment Head may authorize use of sack <br />leave benetits for such absences up to a maxirlum of three clays <br />for each emergency. <br />6. 28 <br />6.28. MILITALY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. <br />Subdivision 1. Military leaves of absence and <br />reemployment of employees ret,irning from active service with the <br />Armed Forces shall be subject to applicaole federal and state <br />legislation. <br />Subdivision 2. Upon return from a military leave of <br />absence, a regular employee will be reinstated to his former <br />position if it still exists and the employee is not incompetent <br />to perform the dut.es of the position. <br />Subdivision 3. if the position no longer exists, the <br />employee will be reinstated to a position of like status and pay, <br />unless circumstances have so changed as to make It .mpossible or <br />unreasonable. <br />
