6. 3) <br />Ok)2) This section shall not be construed to prevent any <br />employee from becoming or continuing to be a member of a poli- <br />tical club or organization or from attendance at a political <br />meeting or from enjoying entire freedom from all interference in <br />casting his vote or from seeking or accepting election or <br />appointment to public office. <br />(3) Any employee who shall become a candidate for any <br />elective nFf—A of fhp M,iniClUality shall dutomatically receive a <br />leave of sbsence without pay And shall herfnrm no duties con- <br />nected with the position held by him until he is no longer a <br />candidate. Tf the needs of the municipal service require, the <br />vacancy created by his absence may be filled and his services <br />terminated. <br />(4) An employee who becomes an elected official of the <br />Municipality shall be required to resign his employment with the <br />Municipality. <br />subdivision 9. Severability. This chapter is subject to <br />the laws of the United States, the State and the Municipality. <br />Each provision of the personnel chapter is deemed severable from <br />any other provision. If any provision of this chapter shall be <br />found to be invalid or void, the remaining provisions shall <br />remain valid unless a court of competent jurisdiction finds any <br />remaining provisions, complete and incapable of being executed in <br />accordance with the Council's intent. <br />
