26.01 <br />f CHAPTER 26 <br />PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br />26.01 Title and Purpose. <br />Subdivision 1. 'ritle_. This chapter will be known, <br />cited and referred to as the "Mounds View Public Improvement <br />hal, Ae Fnnwn <br />Code", except as refrr[ad to heiEin, :There it .T. <br />as "this Code". <br />Subdivision 2. Purpose. It is the purpose of this Code <br />to provide the procedure for initiating, construction, main- <br />taining, and financing local improvements and the imposition <br />of special assessments. <br />26.02 Authority. This Code is enacted pursuant to the <br />Home Rule Charter of the City of Mounds View (hereinafter <br />referred to as the 'Charter*), Chapter 8.03. <br />26.03 Definitions. <br />Subdivision 1. For the purpose of this Code the terms <br />r- defined in this section shall have the meanings ascribed to <br />them. <br />Subdivision 2. "City" means the City of Mounds View. <br />Subdivision 3. "Council" means the cicy Council of <br />Mounds View. <br />Subdivision A. "Clerk" means the Mcunds View Clerk <br />Administrator. <br />:;ubdivision 5. "Improvement" means any type of <br />imorovement made under authority granted by the Charter or <br />state law. <br />Subdivision 6. "L3cal improveme.ts" shall mean a public <br />improvement financed pa.tly or wholly from special <br />assessments. <br />Subdivision 7. "Newspaper" means the official <br />newspaper of the City. <br />Subdivision 8. "Newsletter" means a letter published by <br />the City at regular intervals at least six times each year. <br />Subdivision 9. "Street" means any street, alley, u[ <br />other public way, or any part thereof. <br />
