-2-
c. Regarding the Groveland Parl tennis courts, it appears
that this project will not be completed unless additional
fundiny is allocated by the Mounds view City Council. It
was envisioned that the Groveland Park tennis courts
would be completed in 1986, but it they are not slated
tor 1987 because of the funding for the Greenfield Park
project.
d. We have planted more trees in 1985 than in previous years
due to the purchase of 150 trees fr.im the Twin City Tree
Trust for Greenfield and Random Parks, as well as our
normal plantings throughout the community. A detailed
year end report of our City Forestry Department will be
forwarded to the Ctty Council and Park and Recreation
Commission during the month of February outlining our
1985 tree planting program. It should be noted that we
were once again awarded the Tree City USA award for 1984.
e. In relationship to attracting more kids and people to our
programs, we have made strides in this area by increasing
o
recreation program offerings by approximately 20 percent
and initial estimates show that our revenue for programs
will be increased by 40 percent over 1984 based oo a nine
month prnjorrinn.
). Priority ill - Maintain park and recreation service level.
I'm not sure what this goal relates to and would like addi-
tional clarification as to what this goal alludes to.
4. youth Centel - At this time, no specific direction has heen
taken on the youth certer and I would scspect that the Park
Commission will establish some type of tisk to-ce, in con-
junction with the City Council, after the first of the year,
once the task force on park alternative funding is completed.
Should you have any additional questions or requests regarding
these for goals, feel free to contrct myself directly at ext.
420.
8KA/sl1
