Determination of City Council 30-60 Days <br />Needs <br />This step cells for the City Council to make a <br />determination as to what you feel the achieveahle future <br />for the City in the area of F,cOnOmlc Development w,wld <br />be by identifying the types of businesses or develnpment <br />that would occur and the types of taxable values you <br />would hope to see result from this development. <br />4. Availability of Don Brag-•r 6 60-90 Days <br />Funding Don Pauley <br />This step would identify all federal, state and local <br />funaing sources available for accomlishing economic <br />development. Due to the fact that Congress is currently <br />considering a tax package which would restrict the types <br />of economic development incentives currontly avallahle <br />to municipalities, we would anticipate delaying this <br />report until we can get a better handle on exactly what <br />the Federal Government will be doing to our economic <br />development tools. The City Council will he involved in <br />the final step in this step by making some type of <br />determination as to level of assistance you feel you <br />would be willing to provide to businesses wishing to <br />build in the community. This will be an extremely <br />sub3ective process as you will have no specific projects <br />ZjrCncand will eimnly t,e vnirinn your nn�ninna wa <br />to what level of assistance you feel the City should he <br />providing in rather broad terms. <br />As we did not have a lot of opportunity to discuss the <br />detail of whet your expectations for the City's Economic <br />Development Plan might be, I would request that you meet <br />with me and discuss any expectations you might have with <br />respect to this plan as at the present time Staff is going <br />to be developing it based on what we feel a plan should <br />contain rather than receiving any specific direction from <br />you.
