MINUTLS OF 'nit; PROCEr:nl Nt;s OF 'nil, <br />PARKS FUNDING ALTERNATIVES TASK FORCE. <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />SI'A11 OF MINNESOTA <br />November 26, 1985 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />Council Chamber.; <br />7:00 p.m. <br />CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order informally at <br />7:05 p.m. <br />ROLL CALL Task furor mrmbvr Iuo vent: Neel Valley, <br />Barb Depew, Fred Kaiser, Todd Wilts. <br />Park 6 Recreation Commissioners present: <br />Chaiperson Wayne Iturmeister, Commissioner <br />Frank Silvis. <br />Councilmembers present: rniinoilmomhAr Gary <br />Quick. <br />Staff present: Park 6 Recreation Director <br />Bruce Anderson. <br />INTRODUCTIONS <br />A brief introduction of each of the individu- <br />als present was made around the room. <br />REVIEW OF M?NUTES FROM <br />NOVEMBER 7 MEETING <br />Staff reviewed the minutes from the November <br />7 meeting and clarified a few minor questions <br />regarding budgetary figures that were pre- <br />viously distributed. <br />PARKS AND RECPEATION <br />PRNRAM OFFERINGS <br />Stafr distributed a list of the currant pro- <br />grams being offered through our department as <br />well as participation figures for 1984 and <br />portions of 1385. Staff indicated that our <br />department had a very positive -esoonse and/ <br />or acceptance from the community ane that our <br />programs had currently outgrown our existing <br />park facilities. Staff also alluded to the <br />current programming efforts beinq made at <br />Edgewood Community Center inclvdinq daytime <br />programs as well as cocrdina!ion of the com- <br />municy center pool. <br />There was some discussion regarding the par- <br />ticipation in our adult athletic programs and <br />Fred Kaiser, task force member, indicated <br />that adult softball was an extremely popular <br />program within the community and staff indi- <br />cated that there are approximately 150 teams <br />currently participating in our adult softball <br />leagues. <br />
