' Councilmember introduced the following writ- <br />ten resolution. (which was read in full) (the reading of which was <br />dispensed with by unanimous consent) and moved its adoptions* <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1964 <br />RESOLUTION DETERMINING TTIE uESIREABILITY <br />OF ISSUING $750,OU0 GENERAL OBLIGATION PARK MONDS <br />AND AUTHORIZING A ONE MILL INCREASE FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />PP.OViDING FUNDS TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN CITY PARKLANDS <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN ELECTION THEREON <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. The City Council hereby finds, determines and <br />declares that it is desirable and in the best interests of the <br />City and its inhabitants to acquire and construct improvements <br />and equipment for parks within the City and to issue General <br />Obligation Bonds of the CiLy in an a.mount not to exreed $750,000 <br />to finance such improvements and equipment. <br />2. A City Council hereby finds, determines and declares <br />that it is desireable and in the best interests of the City and <br />its inhabitants to authorize a one mill increase for the purpose <br />of providing funds to operate and maintain parks, park lands, and <br />related public recreational facilities in the City, which addi- <br />tional tax levy if approved, shall become a permanent adjustment <br />to the City's levy limit base as prov:oed in Minnesota Statutes, <br />section 275.50 - 175.56. <br />3. A special bond clectioo is hereby czlled anA ,nalu 00 <br />held in conjunction with tLe special Pamsey County election on <br />Tuesday, January 21, 1986, bet.weer, the hourf of 7:00 a.m. and <br />8:00 p.m., at the regular polling places in the City, at which <br />election the questions of issuing the above bonds and authoriza- <br />tion for increased maintenance fundinq shall be submitted to the <br />voters. <br />4. Pursuant to the Charter of the City, notice of the <br />submission of said question at said election shall be qiver by <br />publication of the notice of election in the official newspaper <br />at least oi.ce, not less than fifteen (15) days before the date of <br />election, and by postinq saia noti_e in at least one public place <br />in each precinct, also at least fifteen (15) daYR prior to the <br />election date.
