Chief Faq.•rstrnm <br />further requested that the Cities replenish the Contingency <br />Fund in the amount of $10,000 in order to provide adequate <br />funds for cash fl.,w in that, until such time as these menips <br />were received the IAtpartment would be taking out u shor#. <br />term loan in the amount of $10,000 in order to provide <br />adequate operatinn funds. <br />On Friday, .January 17 the three City Managers/Administrators <br />met with Chief Fageratrom regarding his request and obtained <br />additional information from him showing unaudited year-end <br />account balances. Even though we were not pleased with <br />being presented statements from the Fire Department that <br />will be charged against our 1985 expenses, if approved by <br />the Cities to replenish the Contingency Account, we are <br />forced to confirm the fact that the Department has spent <br />more than its 1985 budget and Contingency Account combined, <br />thua running a deficit in the amount of $3,702.66 at the end <br />of 1985. Based on that information we agreed to request our <br />City Councils to approve payment of funds based on "_he 1985 <br />formula to replenish the Fire Department Contingency Fund .n <br />the amount of $10,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIGN: staff would reconmend Council approval of <br />an expe ndiitcre agairst 1985 funds in the amount of i2,440 to <br />replenish 0e Fire Department's Contingency Fund per t'he <br />Fire Chief'e memo:andum and billing statement date(' <br />Decem.)er 11, 1985. <br />DFP/mjs <br />
