A wage increase of jime and ono -half percent
retroactive to January 1 of 1986. This wage
rate is consistent with that heinq agr,•od upon
by the majority of Metropolitan A,e.n .-hies.
2. An increase of $10.00 per month in the basic
monthly insurance c,.vrr•ap' prr,vided to emP1,,v .•
bringing the total monthly payment to $165.00
per month. This is also consistent with wane
settlements for Metropolitan Area cities.
3. An increase in the monthly supplementary wage
payment for the Investigator position from
$90.00 per month to $100.00 per month. The
$90.O0 per month figure was established as a
result of negotiations for the 1082 Labor
Agreement and Staff felt that an adjustiaont to
$100.00 per month would he appropriate as well
as being consistent with other Metropolitan Area
cities.
1. Current contract language provides that A $30U.00
per year uniform allowance be paid to each member
of the barqaininq unit on a voucher basis. This
has become a bone of contention in that it requires
officers purchase uniforms using their own funds and
receive repayment from the City or chirge them on
accounts previously Arranqed for hetwren the City
and various uniform suppliers in the Metropolitan
Area. Prior to the contract lanquaqe beinq enforced
it had been the past practice of the City to give
each officer a $300.00 per year allowance as a
Cash payment nt tho heg1nninq of the year wilt, no
requirement that the ofticers provide proof that
the funds wore heinq used for the purpose f x which
they are intended.
