RECYCLING SERVICKS <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />/ The purpose of this proposal is to enhance the <br />environment by providing a landfill abatement program in <br />Arrordance with the aoals established by the Metropolitan. <br />council's Solid waste Management Development Guide/Policy <br />Plan. This effort will be accomplished through a Curbside <br />Recycling Program provided to residents of the City of <br />Mounds View. <br />1._ Definitions <br />1.1 "Recyclable materials" mean non -glossy newsprint, <br />office paper, corrugated paper, glass, aluminum„ steel and <br />"tin" cans, automobile tires and batteries; and other <br />material as mutualiv agreed upon by the City and Contractor. <br />1.2 "Categories" means the division of recyclable <br />materials into separate groups. Each category shall be <br />placed in its own recyclable container. The categories area <br />a. Glass - Rinsed, lids removed <br />b. Cans - Rinsed <br />C. Non -glossy Office <br />Paper and Newsprint - bundled or bagged, <br />magazines and glossy <br />paper removed <br />d. Corrugated Paper - flattened and tied <br />e. Automobile Tires - clean and dry <br />f. Automobile Batteries - cleaaed and caps on tight <br />1.3 "Recycling collectirn" means the picking ❑p of all <br />recyclable materials along the curb of residential <br />properties located within the City of Mounds View and the <br />transporting of the recyclable materials to a site where <br />t;iey can be processed for the marketplace as Bete mined by <br />the Contractor. <br />1.4 "Residential properties" means attached and detached <br />single -double-, triple-, and quadruple -dwelling units and <br />mobile homes. <br />1.5 "Dwelling unit" means a separate residential <br />dwelling place with a kitcher. <br />
