DEMO TO: un s and Recreation Conmissioners <br />FROM: Sta <br />DATE: March 1980 <br />RE: Satellite facilities <br />In response to the questions raised by the Coninission at the February 28, 1980 <br />Cotrmission meeting, staff developed a survey which was sent to the surrounding <br />communities. The communities that were contacted were: <br />a. <br />Maple Grove <br />f. <br />Maplewood <br />b. <br />Arden Hills <br />g. <br />New Brighton <br />c. <br />Roseville <br />h. <br />Shoreview <br />d. <br />Fridley <br />i. <br />Golden Valley <br />3. <br />Spring Lake Park <br />j. <br />Robbinsdale <br />The results of the survey were as follows: <br />6-1 <br />1. Eight out of the ten communities surveyed do provide bathroom facilities for <br />summer athletic programs. The facilities provided ranged froi a hrmms <br />at all sites to bathrooms for adult programs only.�i oreview <br />only provides satellites wherever there are summer playground activities. <br />2. Many of the communities surveyed had permanent bathroom facilities rather <br />than satellites or portable facilities. In response to questions on vandalism the following was determined: <br />a. Maple Grove, Golden Valley and Arden Hills have attendants present at <br />all times when their blocilities are l"-t open. <br />b.
