MINNESOTA 55113 / PHONE 636-3650 <br />MEMO <br />March 4, 1980 <br />Revised March 24, 1980 <br />On SANFORD C WITTER <br />Superinlendenf <br />TO: Bruce Anderson, Park, Recreation and Forestry Director of the City <br />of Mounds View <br />FROM: George Christenson and John Ostlund <br />RE: Proposed Joint Powers and Maintenance A reements for Edgewood Junior High <br />School Outside Facilities (fields, etc. and the Plans for Upgrading <br />the Edgewood Outside Facilities <br />Based on our many meetings/µldllning sessions the materials for the proposed joint <br />powers and maintenance agreements are ready for review by the City of Mounds View <br />Park and Recreation Commission and then the City Council, This joint powers <br />agreement would replace the one adopted June 12, 1978, copy attached... copy A. <br />The goal and the objectives of the joint efforts are: <br />GOAL - OVERALL: <br />TO DEVELOP AND EFFECTIVELY MAINTAIN THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS' OUTSIDE FACILITIES <br />(FIELDS, ETC.) FOR THE CONVENIENT USE OF THE SCHOOLS AND THE CITIES. <br />OBJECTIVES: <br />1. To provide improved outside facilities (field areas, etc.) for use by <br />the schools and cities. <br />2. To jointly develop and maintain the sites at agreed to standards of <br />maintenance. <br />3. To cooperatively plan for the use, scheduling of the use, and main- <br />tenance of the outside facilities, thereby using the expertise from <br />two staffs which should bring about better communications and more <br />efficient operations of all parties. <br />4. To reduce the amount of duplication of proposed or existing facilities, <br />thereby reducing the costs of development and maintenance for both the <br />school district and the cities. <br />S. To jointly share in the maintenance costs by designating which party <br />will perform which tasks.
