CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW y <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY ' . <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA . <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE RELEASE OP' 1960 LAWCON F'UNDS <br />AND TO RESTORE THE 1981 LAWCON FUNUING LEVEL <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission has <br />established a five year Park Acquisition and Development Program to <br />meet Citizens needs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Five Year Proyram has been implemented through <br />the joint funding of local, state, and federal funds; and <br />WHEREAS, LAWCON funding has made possible the acquisition of <br />land for preservation, and recreaCi.onal pur oses; and <br />WHEREAS, funding has provided the oppoztunity to develop land <br />to meet leisure needs and satisfy a demand placed on existing <br />facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the loss of LAWCON funding creates a serious hardship <br />vpon the City of Mounds View to acquire lanu and develop existing <br />parks; and <br />WHEREAS, LAWCON funding was allocated from designated sources; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, to wait and release LAWCON £unding towards the end <br />of the Fiscal year wiil take Minnesota Citi.es out of the construction <br />season; and <br />WHEREAS, with inflation and its impact on the cost of land and <br />impact on escalating construction costs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View Parks and <br />Recreation Commission strongly urges your support of legislation to <br />release the 1980 I.AWCON Funds immediately; and <br />ATTEST: <br />SEAL) <br />FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the 1981 LAWCON Funds be restored. <br />Mayor <br />C er -Administrator
