4/J DRAFT LAND USE GCALS AND POLICIES y 1, 1980 Goal 1: Develop a cohesive land use pattern which ensures compati- bility and functional relationships among activities and uses. Po11Cy: Relate land use development tc transportetion needs, desired development and community prioritiee. Policy: Analyze a12 development proposals on an individual basis from a physical, economic and social standpoint to determine the most appropriate uses within the context of the development district in which it is located and the community as a whole. Policy: Avoid over allocation of use types on a community as well as on an individual planning district basis. Po11Cy: Accomplish transitions between distinctly dif- fering types of land uses in an orderly fashion which does not create a negative (economic, social, or physical) impact on adjoining developmenta. Po17.Cy: Existing undeveloped single family residential lands shall be developed in a manner responsive to deter- mined needs and compatible with surrounding development.
