Sprin9 Lake Parks, staff and Park Cmnmission fe lt that they were <br />not in a position to assume the additional v ork load at this time <br />untess additional staffing and nronies were allucated. <br />b. Anoka and Ramsey County staff stated that they did not feet <br />Lakeside Park would conform with their existing criteria for <br />County Park land, i.c. sizc, regional significance and type uf <br />facilities. <br />c. Mnunds View staff feels ihat they could manage Lakeside Park with <br />existing staff personel if a mutually agreeable financial arrangement <br />was adopted, by the respective City Councils. <br />At this time the issue of which agency is best equiped to mana9e Lakeside Park <br />is debatable, but the need to designate one responsible agent would appear <br />eminent. <br />4. A listing of long and short range 9oals should be developed based on <br />a comprehensive Master Plan that should be developed and adopted by <br />the respective City Councils and Lakeside Park Commission. <br />5 A need.<. a scssoert :tuu sf:,uld I c cuinplp!ed l.o nel.rrminc and ir sure <br />community input for fut re proyramning an development directions. <br />r <br />6. Budgetary matters should be the responsibility of one agency in <br />conjunction a ith the Lakeside Park Comnission and City Councils. By <br />having one agency responsible for fiscal matters, many of the existing <br />budgetary problems could be reduced i.e. insurance, advertising, . <br />workmans compensation and park maintenance. r° <br />7. A comrnunity task force should be created to examine the existing fees . <br />and charges structure. Possible areas to be re-examined are: <br />a. Examine existing concession profit and loss structure . <br />b. Increase present swimming instruction cost <br />c. Possible yearly permit fee for families, car parking, etc. ', <br />The next Lakeside Park Commission meeting will be Thursday, February 9 at <br />7:00 p.m. at Spring Lake Park Community Center. <br />The Lakeside Park Commission will be looking for Gity Councit and Staff input <br />at that time. <br />Feel free to give n e call to discuss this matter further.
