Ande <br />Parks, Recrea <br />DATE: April 24, 198 <br />RE: .Aquatics Sups <br />Enclosed is a letter that staff has forwarded to Mr. Pete <br />Rechtzigel regarding his employment contract with the City of <br />Mounds View as the Aquatics Supervisor. As can be noted, we are <br />proposing to start Mr. Rechtzigel at the lowest level of the pro- <br />posed salary range with d possible salary increase after six <br />months. 1'1he position is within the 1986 budget. <br />Mr. Rechtzigel plans to begin formal employment with the City, <br />assuming approval by the Council, on Tuesday, April 29, 1986. <br />rete was selected after formally interviewing four applicants and <br />reviewing 52 applications, 15 of which were asked to complete a <br />five question exercise which was ranked on a blind basis by three <br />separate individuals. <br />I feel confident that Pete will be a welcome addition to our City <br />aquatics program and I look forward to working with the City of <br />New Brighton in developing our aquatics programs on a joint <br />basis. As you are aware, this rosition will be covered on a <br />joint powers agreement, of which I have included a copy, and the <br />City will be responsible as the fiscal agent for this position <br />and will be pilling the City of New Brighton for 50 percent of <br />costs that are incurred. <br />RECOMMENDATION: To hire Mr. Pete Rechtzigel at $19,000 per year <br />to be shared on a 50 percent basis with the City of New Brighton <br />as per the approved joint powers agreement. <br />BKA/slI <br />Enclosures <br />
