NORI'H SUBUKBAN CABLE COMMISSION
ai// WI s I IAgf7 N I I.11g AVI NUl. IALIUN 1It]UI IIS. f9NNf502A 55113 16111 W6 8112
Apt11 lb, 1986
TO: NORTH SUBI'RBAN CITY MANAGERS
FROM: Bootsie Anderson
Administrator
there are
gerause of the work being done with regard to the transfer of ownership.
sc+me questions I would like each of you to think about and mU
a-ibe diFCFS With your
r tcncil• and than ancver to the best of your abilities for my use slid the slim uie y'.,
use. Those questions are se follows:
(1) Vllai is your feeling regarding consolidation with the other
five existirg Group W systems. There has been some discussion
regarding the consolidation of the six separate C:ouP W srstecs arns.d rr,e
metropolitan area, that they be consolideced in au.nagement and
all services necessary to make for a better rate for return on
investment. I would like to have your opinion on this idea,
realizing that if this happens the North Suburban Cable territory
would lose its identity and usy be in a position of using what
proceeds and profits directly derived from the North Suburban
system to help supplement systems that are not doing nearly as
we; i, such as Anoka and the Blaine system.
(2) I vould like very much to know what each City would like from its
I -Net (inst!tutional network) and the anticipated future uses of
that 1-Net, i.e. communication between City Halls; communication
from Citv Halls to police departments, if in a separate building;
comrunication from City Halls to public schools; comm•,nlcatlon
from City NAlls to the University and vice versa. If the citles a
could discuss this within their staffing meetings and explore
the ideas of poteutisl uses of I -Net And give me an idea of how
you think you are going to utilize the I -Net we already have
firer ins weAt tec, years.
M.knIW 1♦uIYNM Iwrkel,i• lark l.u• H.vd.arw Newikwlxa - N. ne Un... - F."Aw • S1.
