Mounds View City Council August 11, 1986 <br />Regular Meeting Page Three <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed Staffs memo 10. Consideration o <br />on the billing from Corrigan Electric Company for the Staff Memo on <br />installation of the City's new civil. defense siren, Civil Defense <br />located at Well House U. Siren <br />Bill Frits, 8072 Long Lake Road, stated he did not hear <br />the civil defense siren from inside his home on July 1, <br />July 8, or August 6, or when the tornados went through <br />Anoka County on July 18, and he expressed concern on <br />how well they can alert the citizens to potential <br />danger. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained this siren is new <br />to the City and was officially tested on August 6 and <br />found to work properly. <br />Mayor Linke stated the sirens are set up to be heard <br />outside, not inside. <br />Motion/Second: Haake/Hankner to authorize the payment <br />of $8,600 to Corrigan Electric for the installation of <br />a civil defense siren at Well House R3, with the funds <br />coming from 100-230-4703, Civil Defense Equipment <br />Account. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reviewed the need fur <br />11. Consideration o, <br />temporary clerical services, to assist in placing <br />Staff Memo or <br />records in order at City Hall relative to the <br />Clerical Staff' <br />Williams Pipeline disaster. <br />Assistance <br />Motion/Second: Haake/Blanchard to authorize the <br />hiring of Ms. Deanna Mortenson for a maximum of 80 <br />hours at the rate of $5.00 per hour to provide <br />supplementary clerical assistance to the Administra- <br />tion Staff. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Motion Carried <br />There was no report from the Public Works/Community <br />12.
