RESOLUTION NO. 2074 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION AND APPRECIATION TO THE <br />WHITESIDEWALLS <br />WHEREAS, on the morning of July 8, 1986 the City of <br />MLundS View experienced a catastrophe caused by the rupture <br />of an 8 inch hazardous liquid pipeline running through the <br />City and subseyuenL explosion and fire-- resulting in the <br />deaths of two Mounds View residents and severe injuries to a <br />third; and <br />WHEREAS, in response to this incident various indivi- <br />duals, organizations, and communities have come to the <br />support and encouragement of the City of t'ounds View and the <br />Spano and Balk families; and <br />WHEREAS, the Whitesidewalls have magnanimously <br />offered their outstanding musical skills at no expense in <br />order to stage a benefit dance for the Spano and Balk <br />families; and <br />WHEREAS, such a generous gesture deserves public <br />recognition and acknowledgement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the city Council <br />of the City of Mounds View on behalf of the residents of the <br />City commends the Whitesidewalls for their outstanding <br />community service and offers our heartfelt appreciation for <br />their unselfish generosity. <br />Adopted this 22nd day or September, 1986. <br />ATTEST: _ <br />Mayor Ginke <br />L'ouncilmember Blanchard Councilmember Haake <br />Councilmember Hankner Councilmember Quick <br />Clerk -Administrator Pauley <br />
