MEMO TO: Clerk -Administrator and City Council <br />FROM: Director of Public Workc/Community Development <br />DATE: October 23, 1986 <br />SUBJECT: CITY'PROJECT 66-7, CONSTRUCTION OF POTASSIUM <br />PEPMANGANATE FEED EQUIPMENT FOR WELL NO. 3 <br />AT WATER TREATMENT PLANT NO. 1 <br />Attached please find two quotes for the subject project. <br />The first quote is from R. L. Anderson-Beckstrom. Inc. (A.B., <br />Inc.). A.B., Inc. indicated they will sign the contract which <br />includes liquidated damaged and provide a performance bond if the <br />price of the project is increase to $14,947.00. <br />The second quote is from A & K Construction, Inc. The <br />compariable quote from A & K Construction is the Komax 316 <br />S.S. mixer in the amount of $16,240.00. This is the same mixer <br />in the proposal by A.B., Inc. and is the same mixer that we have <br />at Water Treatment Plant Nos. 2 and 3. The Kenics is less <br />expensive because it does not do as good a job at mixing. A & K <br />Construction's quote is $16,240.00. <br />Both companies have good references. <br />Funding for this project is in the 1986 Budget under Water System <br />Long Term Maintenance and Repair line item 4700-122-4123. <br />RECOMMENDATION: I recommend awarding this project to R. L. <br />Anderson-Beckstrom, Inc. in the amount of $14,947.00. The money <br />shall come from the 1986 Budget, line item 9700-122-4123. <br />SWT/bac <br />
