December 11, 1986
Page 5
The 1987 Budget provides $6,000 for the purchase of two
personal computers. Staff proposes that that appropriation be
used as well as unused funds from the 1986 Budget. Computer
supplies and maintenance were budgeted for a full year,
however, our Texas Instrument system was not delivered until
late June. Unused appropriations of approximately $7,500
exist in the General, Water and Sewer Funds for those items.
Staff proposes these unused appropriations be used to finance
part of this purchase. The following items could be charged
to the 1986 Budget:
931 Emulation Packages $ 250
Toshiba Printer $ 990
Modem and Communications
Software $ 700
TOTAL Tl, 440
and the balance to the 1987 Budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the purchase of two IBM personal
computers from Ameridata at a cost of $7,810 with $1,940 being
charged to the 1986 Budget and $5,870 being charged to the
1987 Budget. Additionally authorize the purchase of a
maintenance contract on each personal computer at a cost of
$648 per year.
DB/ds
0
