CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Eggert called the meeting to order at 7:50 p.m. (Executive Session <br />held at 7:00 p.m.) <br />II. CONSENT AGENDA <br />Eggert moved, seconded by Skelly, approval of the Consent Agenda as presented. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />IV. MAYOR OFLITTLE CANADA - MICHAEL FAHEY <br />Mr. Fahey representing the City of Little Canada requested the Cable Commission <br />review the position it took at the April 7, 1988 meeting regarding the adult <br />them(. movies on the Cable System. <br />It was Mr. Fahey's opinion that a stronger positfca should be taken by <br />the Co•.maissicn to insist that all adult theme movies of unrated, x-rated <br />or other questi.)nable nctu•:e be banned from carriage on this Cable <br />system to preserve decency and community standards. <br />After further discussion Attorney Creighton r(:viewed his pornography opinion. <br />Mr. Creighton clarified ch--t hfu opinion dig not necessarily advise the <br />Commission not to pursue heavier consequences for.the showing of adult <br />theme movies, but rather questions the ability to win such cases considering <br />the fact that they would be lengthy, eery expensive and the odds of losing <br />very high. <br />VSCC After further discussion Blesener moved, seconded by Skelly, that North <br />5.5-2 Suburban Cable Commission request a response from the Cable Company to <br />Appprovei NSCC motion / 4.7-4 regarding pornography on cable channel 34 and that <br />the City Councils be copied with the understanding that it is our attorneys <br />opinion that they are in violation of the original contract. <br />Upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favor thereof: Bauer, Eggert, <br />Blesener, Brandt, Foley, Matson, Murphy and Weyandt and the following <br />
