MINUTES <br />NORTH SUBURBAN CABLE COMMISSION <br />MAY 5, 1.988 <br />PAGE 2 <br />abstained: Skelly. Notion carried. <br />V. INTERACTIVE NETWORK UPDATE <br />Chairman Eggert presented a review of the I -Net completion issue as it remains <br />today. A meeting was held April 26, 1988 with technical consultant Pocky <br />Schlicter, Wayne Powers, Administrator Anderson, Commissioner Matson and <br />Chairman Eggert to discuss Rocky Schlicter's report dated April 11. 1983 <br />(a copy is on fil in the Administrator's office). <br />Mr. Schlicter explained that th(., question of the I••Net completion depended <br />largely on interpretation of the resolution written on March 3, 1988 at <br />the North Suburban Cable Commission meeting. Chairman Eggert went on to <br />explain as a result of this meeting with the above mentioned people, a resolution <br />is being developed to avoid any further misunderstanding as well as to ovtline <br />steps necessary for completion of the I -Net system as per Exhibit A. <br />VI. <br />CABLE TV NORTH CENTRAL REPORT <br />Kathi Donnell) Cohen referenced her monthly pack:ts calling attention to a <br />market increase in the number of basic subscribers and a pickup on pay units <br />that had beer, topped previously. <br />A new marketing piece about dinosaurs was developed and mailed to all homes <br />in the franchise area who had children 12 years of aE< and under that do not <br />currently subscribe to Cable. Th^_ Company is very proud of this totally <br />inhoust 71*ketieg piece. <br />VII. <br />SCHOLARSHIP COhMITTEE REPCRT <br />Weyandt presented the reco=endationfrom the Schclarship Committee (Skelly, <br />Bauer and ,ieydndt) regarding the scholarship recipients. It was decided <br />theL this year, reco?slti.on of cable involvement would be a requirement for <br />scholarship guidelines. The Scholarship recipients are as follows: <br />1) Karen Blomberg, Arden Hills, St. Cloud State University, $1,084.5° <br />2) Christine Ries, Shoreview, Marquette University, $1,084.59 <br />3) Juliana Thi.11, Mounds View, University of Minnesota, $1,626.38 <br />4) Christopher Glenn, Roseville, University of 31nnesota, $2,169.16 <br />5) Join Enger, Shoreview, Bemidji State University, $2,169.16 <br />NSCC <br />5.5-3 <br />Weyandt moved, seconded by Foley t.) award the scholarships in the am3unts <br />Approved <br />to the individuals listed. Motion passed unanimously. <br />VIII. <br />COMMENDATION OF APPRECIATION <br />NSCC <br />Foley moved, seconded by Brandt that the Commission issue a certificate or <br />5.5-4 <br />letter of commendation to Don Tarnowskl of Little Canada for appreciation <br />Approved <br />3b <br />
