-2- <br />This plan proposes the following: <br />PROJECT <br />Removal of the hockey rink. <br />Replacement of the building to the center of <br />the park <br />Installation of a sand volleyball court where <br />the tot lot now lies <br />Installation of a new tot lot behind the <br />building. Equipment is ready for installation. <br />APPROXIMATE COSTS <br />in-house <br />$6,000.00 <br />in-house <br />in-house <br />Pro%ision of pleasure skating rink in the same <br />general area that the hockey rink now lies. The <br />current lights could be used for the pleasure rink, <br />for security lighting and for tot lot lighting. <br />Staff proposes that the electrical systen be brought <br />up to meet code regulations. $10,000 (contracted) <br />A picnic area is proposed In front of the building. <br />This area is near trees and can make use of tree <br />shade. In -ground picnic table, grill and drinking <br />foundation is ready for installation in-house <br />Park grading. During re -development the park needs <br />to be graded to provide drainage towards Rillvi=w Rd. <br />A drain the needs to be installed at the rink site, <br />the culvert needs to be removed and a berm installed <br />along the northern border. $2,000, in-house <br />Staff proposes that parking be on street, park side <br />only. Without a hockey rink, and with the building <br />closer to the road, there is no need for in -the -park <br />parking. <br />Currently the Parks Improvement Fund has $17,000 received from the P.mocu Oil <br />Company park dedication fee for potential monies to be spent on such a park <br />improvement project. <br />Staff will be present to discuss this proposal as well as the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission proposal.
