Are <br />these four goals and their subparts still <br />objectives the City hopes to achieve? In many <br />instances there is overlap between the four <br />stated goals and the issues identified during <br />the update process. <br />Existing Commercial Area Objectives: <br />Goal 1: Commercial development oi,o.11 bF <br />considered in order to provide a broad tax and <br />expanded employment base within Mounds View. <br />a. Continue to maintain and expand the City's <br />commercial tax base to assist in paying <br />for needed services and in reducing tax <br />impact on housing costs. <br />b. Cooperate with commercial developers to <br />insure that commercial development is a <br />community asset and meets the standards <br />established by the City. <br />c. Identify commercial activities <br />complimentary to existing activities and <br />promote and facilitate the development of <br />such commercial activities within Mounds <br />View. <br />Goal 2: Provide safe, convenient, attractive <br />and accessible commercial development within <br />Mounds View. <br />a. Develop commercial and service centers as <br />cohesive, highly interrelated units with <br />adequate off-street parking. <br />b. Commercial development shall Le based upon <br />the concept of a compact, integrated <br />business canter developed according to a <br />specific site plan. <br />c.
