MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: CLERK-ADMINISTRAT <br />DATE: J.ANUARY 10, 1989 <br />.OBJECT: GOAL SETTING AND FUTURE STUDY <br />Attached please find a letter and other documents from <br />Sherry L. Shiller of Countdown 2001, a consulting firm based <br />in Washington, D.C. proposing to provide goal setting and <br />future study services to the City of Mounds View. <br />Dr. Shiller has previously worked for Mayor Hankner in her <br />position with the Minnesota Legislature and Mayor Hankner <br />requested that I discuss with Dr. Shiller the provision of <br />these services to the City of Mounds View. Please note that <br />the letter is in response to a telephone conversation <br />between myself and Dr. Shiller as well as conversations with <br />Mayor Hankner. <br />Dr. Shiller proposes a rate of $2,000 per day plus expenses <br />for travel and materials. The 1989 budget for the City of <br />Mounds View contains a line item in the amount of $1,500 <br />which is matched by an equal amount that was set aside in <br />1988 for a goal setting session in 1989. <br />'Lou have previously rece..--ed a memorandum from me to Mayor <br />Hankner on future studies conducted by ogler cities in the <br />State of Minnesota. Rather than review that memorandum <br />again, I would simply suggest that we discuss the issue of a <br />goal setting session and future study at your January 17 <br />agenda session at which time I will be happy to outline my <br />proposal to you in detail. <br />DFP; MJS <br />ow <br />
