12/29/A8 [REVISOR J XX/MC 89-0652 <br />1 Subd. 6. [DECISIONS AND ORDERS.) The board's decision and <br />2 order at the conclusion of an adjudicatory hearing may include: <br />3 (1) a requirement that the violator conform the violator's <br />4 conduct to this chapter; <br />5 (2) a requirement that the violator forfeit a civil penalty <br />6 of no more than $10,P00 for each violation of this chapter; <br />7 [3) in the case of a violator who is a public official or <br />8 public employee in the classified or unclassified service, a <br />9 recommendatlon to the violator'3 appointing authority that the <br />10 violator be disciplined or discharged in accordance with any <br />11 applicable law, collective bargaining jq_reement, or policy; <br />12 (4) in the case of a violator who is a public official <br />13 subject to impeachment or removal from office, a recommendation <br />14 to the appropriate body that it initiate proceedings to remove <br />15 the violator; <br />16 (5) in the case of a violator who is a 1^,3islato:, a <br />1; recommendation to the appropriate house of the legislature that <br />18 the violator be ce::sured, suspended, or :emoved from office; <br />19 (6) a requirement that the violator file a report, <br />20 statement, or other information with the board; or <br />21 (7) any other necessary or appropriate recommendation or <br />22 reguiremant consistent with this chapter. <br />23 Subd. 7. [REPRISALS PROHIBITED.) A public official or <br />24 employee may not be subjected to discipline or reprisal by <br />25 another public official or employee for reporting, to the board <br />�26 or to another governmental unit, i.nformaLion the public official <br />f <br />27 or employee reasonably believes to be related to a violation of <br />28 this chapter or to waste, inefficiency, or neglect of duty on <br />29 the part of a public official or employee. For purposes of this <br />30 subdivision, a person has been subjected to discipline or <br />31 reprisal for reporting violation^ or other matters if the report <br />32 was a factor in the discipline or reprisal. A public official <br />33 or employee who subjects a person to reprisal or discipline for <br />34 reporting, or attempting to report, an alleged violation of this <br />35 chapter or alleged waste, inefficiency, or neglect of duty is <br />36 guilty of a misdemeanor.
