® MEMO T0: MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS f7
FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR (ry
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
DATE: MARCH 28, 1989
SUBJECT: PARKING AT OAKWOOD PARK
Residents living around the Oakwood Park area attended the March
16 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting to discuss issues. One
issue was parking.
After much discussion, it was decided that the most favorable
alternative for this group is to allow parking along the park side
of Oakwood, Quincy and Hillview.
E
Quincy
W I I ---- parking allowed
This would mean that no parking signs would go up on the other
sides of the streets. We discussed the fact that this would affect
visitor parking in front of the homes on Oakwood. The residents
are aware of this. Chief Ramacher and Engineer Minetor have
reviewed this request and suggest that "NO PARKING" signs be placed
at the locations marked with an ":C" along the south side of Oakwood
Drive. This is the area that results in congestion with double
parkings. Since parking is not evident on the west side of Quincy
Street and north side of Hillview Road, signs would not he placed
until a need is determined.
RECOMMENDATION: Consider the approval of "NO PARKING" signs placed
along the south side of Oakwood Drive across from Oakwood Park to
help alleviate the problem of parking congestion.
® MS/SL
