yj— MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS
FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR 0
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
DATE: APRIL 6, 1989
SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR PURCHASE OF PICNIC TABLES AND BENCHES
The Parks and Recreation Commission developed a five year Capital
Improvements Plan for the annual park dedication monies of
$12,500 for five years by the Everest Development. Picnic tables
and benches are planned for purchase this year ainna eitk: other
Park amenities. The tables proposed are the same style as those
placed at Aocdcrest and Random Parks. They are a galvanized
steel mesh permanently laid in a concrete bed. They require low
maintenance, are very sturdy and easily cleaned, do not splinter
and are comfortable to sit on. The benches are of the same style
and make.
The style of these items were chosen by the Parks and Recreation
Commission in 1988 with the idea of offering a consistant look in
all the neighborhood parks. For this reason, the same supplier
is recommended for the purchase of these products.
Again, these items are listed in the adopted 1988 Parks Capital
Improvements with monies coming from the annual park dedication
from the Everest Development.
RECOI&MENDATION: Approve the purchase of picnic tables and
benches from Miracle Recreation at the cost of $4,319 to be paid
from the monies received from the Everest Development park
dedication fees.
MS/SL
