Employee Group Insurance - Chapter 90 (HF1440) <br />Requires every political subdivision with the authority <br />to purchase group insurance for its employees to request <br />proposals from and enter <br />ofinto <br />the political subdivisionrare <br />which in theto <br />judgement <br />best qualified to provide coverage. The law specifies <br />proposal and contract requirements and prohibits e <br />reduction of collective bargaining group <br />benefits without consent of the <br />employees <br />exclusive <br />aw which usly <br />representative. This changes past <br />required insurance be bid on the low bidder philosophy. <br />Effective May 9, 1989. <br />9. Liquor License Fees - Chapter 104 (HF1405) <br />Provides that no city shall increase the fee for liquor <br />licenses governed by State Law except after notice and <br />hearing on the proposed increase. Notice of the <br />must be mailed to all perspective <br />proposed increase <br />licensees at least 30 days before the date of. the <br />hearing. Effective June 30, 1989 and applies to all <br />licenses renewed on or after that date. <br />10. Interim Use Permits - Chapter 200 (SF1498) <br />Allows the governing body of a local governmental unit <br />to allow interim uses of property if the use conforms to <br />the zoning regulations; the date or event that will <br />terminate the use can be identified be with certainties; <br />permissioned use will not impose adublicnto takeal s on the <br />the <br />public if it is necessary for the p <br />property in the future; and the user agrees to any <br />riate <br />conditions that the governmental body deems app p <br />for permission of the use. The law provides that any <br />interim use may not be terminated by a change in zoning <br />regulations and requires public hearings before granting <br />interim use permits.
