MEMO TU: FFORD CITY COUNCIL/ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY <br />ASK <br />FROM: CLERK-ADMINISTRAT <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 3, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT <br />On the morning of February 1, 1989 I had the opportunity to <br />attend a meeting where representatives of Ramsey County who <br />are responsible for their Solid Waste Management program <br />outlined future developments in their recycling program. <br />These developments include mandatory source separation by <br />1990 elimination of county funding support for curbside <br />recycling programs by`December311 1990,te be implementation of <br />the state mand&La t.•a� a_1 yard <br />meted effective <br />efforts to deal with the problem of <br />January 1 of 1990 and <br />household hazardous waste. <br />Attached please find a document entitled, "Ramsey County <br />Recycling Implementation Strategy" which was handed out at <br />esses these issues as well as many <br />this meeting and addr <br />ailed information on the direction <br />others and provides det <br />the County anticipates it will be moving with respect that <br />to <br />in the near future.
