By August 8 <br />Cities over 2,500 certify <br />final proposed levies <br />(Final levies may not <br />exceed this amount.) ................... By August 15 <br />Counties mail notices to each <br />taxpayer with proposed taxes. <br />The revenue department is not <br />requiring notices to be mailed <br />to comply with truth in taxation........ By September 15 <br />Newspaper advertisement of <br />proposed property taxes, <br />percent change in levy, <br />and date and time of <br />public hearing .......................... By September 15 <br />Cities over 2,300 hold public <br />budget hearings ......................... Late September to early <br />October, depending on <br />date of advertisement <br />All cities certify final levies <br />and budgets (Levies for cities <br />over 2,500 cannot exceed <br />August. 1 proposed levy) .................
