9 <br />0 <br />MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: City Planner Hren <br />DATE: August 2, 1989 <br />SUBJECT: TACO BELL SIGN PLAN AMENDMENT <br />Taco Bell has requested a revision to their sign plan. The <br />proposed revision includes the addition of a 32 square foot <br />reader board to be attached to the free-standing sign. The <br />free-standing sign has 97 square feet of area. The new total <br />sign area is 129 square feet. The ordinance allows up to 340 <br />square feet on each side of the sign. <br />Because this site is a planned unit development and one of the <br />sign plans has a proposed revision, Council approval is <br />required. It is up to the discretion of the Council whether sign <br />requests such as this one would be heard at the Planning <br />Commission. However, the ordinance indicates only Council <br />approval on sign requests is required. <br />Staff would like direction regarding the acceptability of this <br />request. <br />MMH/BAC <br />
