The <br />committee has requested cities to indicate their official Position <br />on a number of concerns identified in that survey: 1) the requirement <br />for special school district elections (excess levy, reverse and <br />petitioned referenda to be held only on November general election <br />dates; 2) proposals calling for consolidated (uniform) local <br />government elections; and 3) proposed standards of ethical conduct <br />and requirements for financial disclosure (statements of economic <br />interest) by both elected and appointed public officials. ` <br />Below please find a description of the elections and ethics policy <br />issues in question. Chapter 329, Article I, Section 4 of the 1989 Minnesota Statutes <br />requires school districts to schedule excess levy, reverse and <br />petitioned referenda only on the date of November general <br />elections, effective June 1, 1989. <br />_ support Please indicate whether your city supports or opposes this <br />_ oppose restriction.
