MEMO TO: Mayor and City Council
• FROM: City Planner Hren
DATE: August 16, 1989
SUBJECT: RAMSEY COUNTY LIBRARY - MOUNDS VIEW BRANCH
Please find attached a copy of a Staff Report evaluating the
proposed library site.
Staff held a development review meeting with department heads and
the applicant. From that meeting, some suggestions were made to
the applicant.
The plans you received with this packet do not reflect those site
design changes. Staff indicated to the applicant to wait until
comments were received from the Planning Commission and City
Council.
The project will proceed under the following schedule:
August 16 Planning Commission Agenda Session
August 21 City Council Agenda Session
September 6 Planning Commission Regular Meeting
September 18 City Council Agenda Session +
September. 25 City Council Regular Meeting
There are opportunities to either speed this process up, add
additional meetings inbetween the dates listed above or extend
the meeting schedule out further. The earliest possible
approval/denial date could be September 11 provided there are no
significant problems that arise.
This proposed use is a conditional uLa in the B-2 District,
therefore, a public hearing will be required and is expected to
be set for the September 25 regular meeting. The applicant
anticipates starting construction this fall.
Please direct Staff as to the desired timing of this project.
MMH/BAC
