(_% MEMORANDUM
Memo To :Michelle Hren, City Planner
From :Ric Minetor, City Engineer
Date :August. 10, 1989
Subject :Library Site - Development Review Comments
The proposed library site plan indicates drainage through storm
sewers from the site to the existing storm drainage system, with
the -exception of minor sections of each entrance. This is a very
good approach to controlling the storm water. I believe the storm
sewer was sized for the anticipated flows based on existing
zoning; therefore, unless this proposal has greater impervious
surface than allowed under existing zoning there should be no
adverse impact on the receiving storm sewer.
The downstream system is scheduled for major improvement in
conjunction with Long Lake Road reconstruction. Storm Water
Management fees are therefore applicable to this project unless
waived by council. The fees in accordance with Chapter. 25 of the
Municipal Code would be $1,723 per acre for a total fee of .•
$6,495.71. This fee may have been paid with the Krause -Anderson
development of the shopping center, in which case it is
appropriate not to charge this fee.
I have no other concerns regarding this project.
