Silver View Park Picnic Shelter <br />planning Committee <br />MINUTES <br />Wednesday, August 30, 1989 <br />City Council Chambers <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Call to order - Wayne Burmeister <br />2. Present: Wayne Burmeister, Gary Jones, Lenore Ahlberg, Gary Quick, Edd <br />Trettel, Jerry Linke and Mary Saarion. <br />3. it was suggested by Wayne Burmeister that the committee visit Lakeside beach <br />house to get an idea of similarities and size. The Committee stopped at Silver <br />View Park to discuss picnic shelter location. Staff was directed to set stakes to <br />indicate the shelter dimensions. <br />Upon return, the Committee reviewed the former plans as presented by Jerry <br />Linke. At that point, an idea session began to evolve with options for layout. <br />A plan was developed and agreed upon by all committee members. Jerry Linke <br />will re -draw the plan. Staff will then mail this plan to each committee member <br />for review and contemplation. <br />The next step was to brainstorm amenities that each committee member would <br />like to see in the picnic shelter. A list of these items is attached. <br />Finally, it as decided that the committee meet again on Thursday, September <br />7 at 6:00 �.m. to review the new layout including the amenities. The <br />Commtttr would like to present that plan to the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission and City Council at a joint meeting, before the regular Council <br />meeting on Monday, September 11 at 6:30 p.m. to review the plan. <br />Staff was directed to consult the City Attorney on the appropriate bidding <br />process and also consult staff as to the possibility of acting as general <br />contractor. <br />The Committee discussed remuneration for the time spent by Architectural <br />Designer Jerry Linke. Edd Trettel said that he would propose a remuneration <br />idea to the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />4.
