Mounds View City Council
Regular Meeting
Mr. Links explained why the layout is proposed as is,
and the different options they have looked at. Alter-
nate layouts of the restrooms were discussed, but Mr.
Linke noted that they could not be cut in size much
due to the space requirement for making them handicapped
accessible.
Mayor Hankner pointed out that items the Council needs
to consider include replacement of items, on -going
maintenance and or. -going utility costs. The planned
restroom fixtures are porcelain, as they are less
costly than stainless steel, but are more susceptible
to damage and vandalism.
Mr. Links explained money is not available at this
time for picnic tables, but the Lions hope they may
have the funds to provide the tables in the near
future, and he reviewed the various options they have
considered. He added he does not feel the utilities
will be more than what the City is paying at Lambert
Park.
Mayor Hankner stated the Council is working with the
budget for 1990 and she hopes they might find the
funding for the tables.
Mr. Links stated he hopes to bring the plan back to
the Council in two weeks. They presently have about
one month left for planning and bids, before con-
struction must begin.
Mayor Hankner stated the item would be placed on the
agenda for next week, in the event Mr. Links is ready
to meet• with the Council then, and it could be tabled
if he is not ready, and in the meantime, Staff can
look at the issue of on -going utility and maintenance
costs.
Motion/Second: Hankner/wuori that Staff be directed
to gather cost information relative to on -going
maintenance, replacement and on -going utility costs
for the Silver view Park picnic shelter.
5 ayes 0 nays
Mayor Hankner stated she had received a letter about
the path extension around Silver View Pond, and the
City may have a problem as the proposed path area is
very close to one of the homes. She stated she would
have Staff copy the letter for the Council.
August 14, 1989
Page Four
L'
F
Motion carried
