MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR DON PAUL <br />DATE: OCTOBER 18, 1989 �+ <br />SUBJECT: MOUNDS VIEW BUSINESS PARK CONSTRUCTION MANAGE- <br />MENT EXPENSES <br />The contract between the City of Mounds View and Everest <br />Construction Company provides that Everest Construction <br />Company will provide construction management services during <br />the develcpmerrt of the Mounds View Business Park project and <br />the City of Mounds View will compensate Everest Construction <br />for certain out-of-pocket expenses as well as 4% of <br />construction costs not to exceed $72,000. In May of this <br />year the City compensated Everest Construction $44,484 for <br />construction management fees and $208,000 in cut -of - <br />pocket expenses. The City has since received a second <br />billing from Everest Construction for their out-of-pocket <br />expenses and management fees totalling $31,764.14. This <br />amount is made up of a construction management fee of <br />$3,248.14 and $28,516 for eligible out-of-pocket expenses. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Council authorize the <br />payment of $31,764.14 in construction management fees and <br />expenses to Everest Construction Company to be charged to <br />the Mounds View Business Park tax increment fund. <br />DFP/MJS <br />U <br />
