ANIMAL POUND CONTRACT <br />An agreement b" 'A hcrwonn the Citv of Mounds View, <br />a a,un cipal rnrooration, hereinafter called the City, and <br />Dr. Keith Hedges, doing business as the Brighton Veterinary <br />Clinic, 2615 Mississippi Straet, New Brighton, Minnesota, <br />hereinafter referred to as the Poundkeeper, for and in <br />consideration of the covenants and agreements herein contained, <br />the parties agree as follows: <br />1. That the Poundkeeper warrants that it has good <br />and sufficient facilities for the impounding, <br />keeping and care of dogs and cats which may be <br />brought to it by the City. <br />2. That the Foundkeeper will receive, keep, board <br />and care for all animals entrusted to them by <br />the City. <br />3. That the Poundkeeper will receive and properly <br />dispose of all dead animals delivered by the <br />City for a cost of $11.00 per animal. <br />4. The Poundkeeper shall train the City animal <br />wardens in the safe and humane handling and <br />apprehension of animals. <br />5. The Poundkeeper shall, in all cases except where deemed <br />inappropriate by the Poundkeeper, administer <br />distemper vaccine to all animals impounded and <br />shall attend to the medical needs of all animals. <br />The City shall pay to the Poundkeeper fifty <br />percent (50%) of the costs incurred by reason <br />of this paragraph unless the animal owner claims <br />their animal, then the owner shall pay all costs. <br />6. If any animals shall not be reclaimed by the <br />owner within five (5) regular business days, as <br />defined in MSA 35.71, the City shall have no <br />right or interest in such animal and the Pound - <br />keeper may dispose of such animal in a proper and <br />humane manner or in accordance with the provisions <br />of MSA 35.71, Su'od. 3. Animals which may have been <br />impounded for the required five day period and not <br />reclaimed by their owner may be sold to persons other <br />than the owner upon payment of all fees due to the City. <br />he sum <br />7$6e001ty persdaylforyto eachthe dogpounkeeer boardedpandt of <br />$5.00 <br />per day for each cat boarded, but not to exceed <br />seven (7) days.
