Proposed <br />i <br />1988 *.;ate; rates will be $0.75 per 1,000 gallons of water <br />- <br />purchased. This is no change from 1987 rates. Present rates <br />have beed in effect since January 1, 1986. Water sales rre <br />t estimated at 401'million gallons. Total estimated water revenues <br />are $406,338. <br />Water Fund expenditures for 1988 are estimated to be $381,979, a <br />decrease of $31,406 from 1987 expenditures of $413,385. The main <br />reason for the decrease is a decrease in the amount of scheduled <br />maintenance for 1988 per the Water 5 Sewer Maintenance and <br />Capital Improvements Plan. <br />$ 359. This rate has been in <br />effect since January 1, 1986. <br />The largest single item .in the Sewer Fund Budget is costs paid to <br />the Metror)litan Waste Control Commission (MWCC) for sewerage <br />treatment. These costs are estimated at $402,792 and represent. <br />approximately 58% of the Sewer Fund Budget. <br />Continuation of the City's Long Term Capital Improvements and <br />Maintenance Program is contained within the Sewer Fund's 1988 <br />Budget. Program expenditures for 1988 are estimated at $75,900. <br />The Fund's estimated net income for 1988 is $2,292 compared to <br />estimated I987 net income of $2,573. <br />REVENUES <br />General Fund. <br />Overall General Fund revenues of $2,179,349 are estimated to be <br />3.48% greater than estimated 1987 revenues of $2,106,117. Thc <br />attached General Fund Revenue Detail lists various General Fund <br />revenues estimated for 1988 by category. P review of these <br />revenues is presented below: <br />General property taxes account for the present year's property <br />tax levy plus collections of delinquent taxes and penalties and <br />interest on delinquent tax collections.
